Can't stick with one too long, have to try every combination.Based from Pet Shop mod and inspired by Spar Demon Ability Spell (see links below). I'm a bit ADD about characters in games like these. I'm up for either trying to finish our game, or starting a new one.

Tonight I should be free for a while, though. Last night I made other plans, since I didn't think anybody was playing. If that falls through, I'll probably start an Engineer or Embermage on veteran, or maybe Normal Hardcore.Īh, by your earlier message I thought you'd only be on tonight. I'll be on the Ars Teamspeak server, too. I'll be on tonight, but later - like, probably 7:30 or 8 PST to give that boss a run on Veteran.Īnyone else wants to join, feel free. I hopped on and gave the last guy a go, but it didn't work out very well. I am enjoying the game quite a bit so far. The Embermage doesn't really have any pet build options unique to him, and I've never really liked mage-type characters, so I probably won't ever play it. The only reason I played Alchemist in TL1 was because of the pet builds. I don't really plan on ever playing the Embermage. I typically prefer melee characters, though. Shotgun Outlander is also fun, but I think it suffers in DPS, as well as range. I do have an Outlander that I play sometimes, but he's crazy-squishy, and basically requires appreciable knockback on every hit in order to survive. I do plan on rolling a tank Engie build at some point, but that'd obviously be dependent on having some DPS-type characters playing with me.

Just spawn my pets, and run away for a minute, and everything was dead. I have pretty much given this up as it was really kind of boring. My first build was a pet-oriented Engineer on normal. This is partly because I have kind of a glass cannon build. I have a fair bit of armor, and 3k health, and do still occasionally get one-shotted by various enemies. You'll be rolling along, doing fine, and suddenly hit some enemy mage who will do a lot of damage in very few hits. The point about hitting walls is certainly true, but seems to be mostly linked to elemental damage. Also, in Casual/Elite, money drops are different too. AFAIK there's no difference in drops/XP/etc., it's just monster health/damage that's affected. A few times I felt like I was sailing along, only to hit a brick wall and die all the time for a few levels. I like Veteran, but the difficulty scaling can be a bit uneven. I also like to throw out an Icy Blast to get the reduced elemental resistance from Staff Mastery.Īre all 4 classes well balanced this time around? What difficulty level just seems right?

I just wish you could upgrade the duration of the spell, even for slightly lower damage. I'm not high enough level to get firestorm yet, but burning pillar does a good job of complimenting pb. I also like that i can shoot around corners and even use it to shoot into a room before entering the room. The real beauty of pbolt is when you get burn, frozen, and electric all at the same time, then all of your brands are added to each shot for insane damage. I've got a concentration 3 scroll in case I need more, and i've also got 4 more gems I can socket for (level 40). I've got 2 x 1.7 and 2 x 1.4, and that's all that's needed to spam rank 1 p-bolt. There's no reason to not have mana regen by level 30. Save up all your gems so you can transmute them in act 2 to get mana regen gems. Take it over everything when you start out. I finally ended up putting a point into Firestorm. My most recent challenge has been trying to find an active ability that compliments PB so I can use more than one button. I've been playing a Prismatic Bolt Embermage recently and it was a challenge to get started, burned through mana potions like crazy.
